Sweet and High: How to Make Cannabis Cupcakes

Because cannabis edibles are relatively legal to be used for recreational purposes in some states in the US, they have been widely become a party pumper. Whenever people throw parties, to keep the fun happening, everyone forgets everything but the weeds.

It makes the party a lot much cooler. However, what just make's it so old is people just stick to the old-fashioned cannabis-infused recipe--brownies. So to skew this marijuana tradition, here is a new thing for everyone--the Cannabis cupcakes. And don't worry, you could make them without consuming too much time.

Here's how to do them:

This recipe is good for 6.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Total: 1 hour and 15 minutes

Ingredients:

for the cupcakes:

1/2 gram Blueberry Marijuana

1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoons organic cane sugar

6 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup sour cream

2 egg whites

1/4 cup canola oil

1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon Madagascar vanilla paste

for the frosting:

2 ounces 70% chocolate bars, broken into pieces

1 1/2 tablespoons milk

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
a pinch of kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon Madagascar vanilla paste
rainbow sprinkles

Directions:

Make the cupcakes:

  1. Preheat the oven to 290°F or 145°C.
  2. Lay the marijuana evenly on a baking sheet and bake for an hour.
  3. Change the temperature of the oven to 325°F or 162°C.
  4. In a small sauce pan, melt3 tbsps of butter over low-high heat. Add the heated marijuana and simmer for half an hour.
  5. Get a sieve and strain the butter into a large bowl. Make sure to remove visible chinks.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix baking powder, sugar, flour, and salt.
  7. Incorporate cannabis butter unto the flour mixture and stir until well-combined.
  8. In a separate bowl, whisk vanilla paste, oil, sour cream, egg whites and ¼ cup warm water. While whisking using a hand mixer with a motor, add the wet ingredients under the ‘for the cupcakes’ category into the previous flour mixture you created in steps 6 and 7. Mix until the batter appears smooth.
  9. Get the cupcake tray and place 6 cupcake wrappers. Fill each piece with batter evenly.
  10. You could check if it is already cooked when you touch the top and the cupcake springs back lightly. This usually takes about 30 minutes. Cool and set side.

Making the frosting:

  1. Prepare a heat-proof bowl, small sauce pan, and simmering water. Place the bowl over the sauce pan then put both over the water.
  2. Add the chocolate and stir until melted.
  3. Make sure to melt it completely so it won’t melt the butter too much or else, the frosting might appear watery or syrup-like.
  4. Mix sugar, butter, and salt in a bowl and stir with a hand mixer. Incorporate the melted chocolate, vanilla, and milk. Mix them altogether until smooth.
  5. Grab a frosting using a spatula and spread it on top of the cupcake’s center. Twist while lifting the tip of spatula to make frosting swirls.
  6. You could put some other cupcake toppings like rainbow sprinkles if you like.
